The Simple Woman's Daybook
FOR TODAY ~ April 27, 2010
Outside my window.....the air is much cooler than it has been the last few weeks. My toes are cold.
I am thinking.....I need to make some lists before May gets here.
I am thankful for.....my husband, my helpmate
From the learning rooms......we are looking forward to taking a short break and are examining the possibility of different projects for summer. As of now, we are planning on three trips to state parks, a festival or two, camps, working on penmanship, learning the Hebrew alphabet, map reading, raising worms and turkeys. We will also continue to read over the summer….but fun stuff, like Hank the Cow Dog.
From the kitchen...something warm, nurturing, homemade ~ maybe a large pot of vegetable soup with cornbread and a cheesecake for dessert
I am wearing...my Oklahoma Food Co-op tee-shirt and jeans, bare feet
I am creating...only in my mind, but it is a busy place!
I am going..... to write a few notes and make some needful calls. Tried to call my aunt yesterday and wasn’t able to reach her.
I am reading...still reading “Here Burns My Candle” by Liz Curtis Higgs. Because of a headache, I didn’t read much last week. What I’ve read, I love, but I wish I had ordered the large print addition. Just saying.
I am hoping...for the days to warm back up soon. I have lots of baby plants that need to be set out, but don’t want them to go into some sort of shock.
I am hearing...the crowing of a rooster, goats that are anxious to be milked, babies wanting their mamas
Around the house...trying to sort through the winter clothes. Each time I go to pack them away, the thermometer takes a nose dive.
One of my favorite things.....warm weather! And I’ve really been wanting cantaloupe ….a good, sweet, ripe cantaloupe.
A few plans for the rest of the week.….I’m not sure. I think I will just let it unfold and try to enjoy the splendor of each day as it comes.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
This is Brennon. He spent this past weekend with us. He wants to know if he can move in and stay all summer. Not sure what his Mama and Daddy will say about that.
Be sure and visit the "original" The Simple Woman's Daybook and go by and say hello to some of those who have linked-up there!
I'll have the winner(s) from the Candle Giveaway in just a few days!
Blessings,

Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteIt was good to visit your blog today - I enjoyed my visit very much! You mentioned learning to make soap on my Daybook entry. After trying to learn from books and videos, my greatest success came from having a friend teach me. Learning by example (especially in the sometimes-fussy art of soapmaking) is much easier! Have a great day -
Thank you for visiting my blog today! I have enjoyed reading your daybook very much! I hope you have a wonderful week. ~Karen

Thanks for visiting my blog - loved your SWDB entry and my look around...soapmaking and candle making...I will have to come back for more info on these things..
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
I enjoyed reading your Daybook. I too keep trying to put away winter clothes but the thermometer keeps telling me otherwise. Do you grow and freeze cantaloupe? We had an overabundance last summer, so we froze some and I am surprised how well the flavor kept. Have a great week!
