FF's and Spring Giveaway!

Mommy's Idea

Friday Follow

This past week took two formerly “stud” horses to Doc’s. They will no longer have romantic notions when they come into contact with the girlie horses. We had talked to the boys before the trip to the vet, explaining it was a process similar to when we “band” the baby “billy” goats. Our 13 y/o was super interested in this process. Even more so when we suggested if he didn’t settle down, he could meet with the same fate. LOL The look on his face was priceless.

Obviously, Flicka thought that was amusing! We have the smartest horses.

I am sorry I did not get to visit many of those who linked to last week’s Friday Fragments. Every time I turned around it seem some part of life was “unraveling.” I felt like the little boy who stuck his finger in the dam to stop the leak, only I kept running out of fingers.

The fact that Dixie Carter/Julia Sugarbaker passed away saddens me. I thought she was brilliant, elegant, and spunky ~ definitely a southerner at heart. I loved her role as Julia Sugarbaker (although, the lines I remember laughing at were often Suzanne’s). She will be missed.

The irises are beginning to bloom. They were always Mom’s favorite flower! They are lovely.

The Spring Giveaway is going on ~ go here ~ therefore we need a question of the day for this post! Which candle fragrances would you choose for your bathroom?

Wade’s Wisdom:

I had amnesia once - maybe twice.
Now, go see a play tonight…..in 3D!;-)

But before you do, be sure and click on the above buttons and visit with the other Friday Fragment people and the Friday Follow bunch! You will be glad you did.

Now, go have a great weekend!

Blessings,

  1. Dixie will truly be missed.

I was just driving home and noticed the iris' in someone's yard and they brought back sweet memories. My grandmother's long drive up to the farm was lined with them. I loved the smell of them when we'd walk down to the mailbox and back.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Favorite candle scent? Hmm... well, it's not the usual candle scent. But, my favorite is a frangrance called High Maintenance by Tyler candles.

But, if I had to go with just a "normal" scent it would have to be something woodsy. I don't care for floral scents at all.

  3. Well you know how I feel about Dixie...sigh.
Irises are in the top 3 of my all-time fav flowers.
Candle scents for a bathroom should be fresh and clean smelling...that's what I tell my clients who are trying to sell their home. Clean and Fresh...there's one sold at Bath and Body Works called Fresh Linen...use it alot.
    Have a wonderful weekend Cheryl.
And if you have the gumption, would love to see your "Glamour Shots" pic from back in the day!

  5. One of my favorite things about Fridays, Cheryl, is coming over here to visit you and read your Friday Fragments and Wade's Wisdom! I'm dead serious! Love the picture of the horse laughing! ~wink~

Candle scent for the bathroom...oatmeal? Sounds crazy I know...but floral scents really give me a reaction.

Hope you have a super good weekend!

    (hugs) to you

  6. Okay sweetie ... I think you meant the dear boy would suffer the same FATE not faith. Either way that was darned funny! :)

As for bathroom candle scents ... I would go with vanilla and or sandalwood. I'm invariably allergic to florals. :)

  9. This doesn't really have anything to do with the post, but the post reminded me that last night I had a dream about beautiful gigantic horses. Horses taller than electricity posts.

  13. After visiting three links that were merely self-promotion and NOT Friday Fragments post, I must say it's good to be here :) Sorry things were so "unravelly" last week; I hope this week is going better :)

I liked Dixie Carter, too; she seemed very comfortable with herself.
